Anytime a remedy or conventional medicine is given in overdose, it will produce side-effects. Particularly in the face of historical evidence, such as that in the 1918 Spanish” flu pandemic, which claimed the lives of between 50 to 100 million people worldwide, homeopaths were able to save almost 99% of their patients, while conventional doctors were losing 30% of theirs.
In some cases, where conventional medicine is suppressing a major system of the body (such as steroids and hormone treatments) homeopathic treatment may be more difficult; remedies may have to be given more often or over a longer period of time; or sometimes homeopathy fails to work at all.
The evidence required will vary depending on which category the homeopathic medicine falls into (specific or non-specific recommended use or purpose) as outlined in chapter 3. Information supporting the recommended conditions of use must be provided by referencing evidence such as clinical trials and/or published homeopathic references.
Because classical homeopathy focuses on the person, not the name of the disease, homeopathic treatment has the potential to be of benefit in any condition including chronic conditions such as allergies, asthma, arthritis, digestive problems, constipation and diarrhea, eczema, headaches, neurological conditions, and menstrual problems.
When he heard the homeopathic treatment mentioned he went into a rage and railed about people dying in India because they don’t use traditional medicine etc.-totally ignoring that I had just used traditional fever reducers and taken my son to a conventional physician.
